Robert Kenny Smith is a contemporary Scottish artist who has moved from Scotland to the Pyrenees Orientales in the south of France. Now he lives in Prades, famous for its Pablo Casals International Music festival.
His work is predominantly abstract figurative. His early works were inspired by contemporary dance and the performing arts, and he created energetic moving forms in colour, light and space. His later work has derived its inspiration from the intense power of the sports pitch. Most recently Robert has explored the darker imagery and chilling stories of politically and culturally displaced refugees.
Robert has had numerous exhibitions in Scotland and England and now exhibits regularly in France.
